The Job

We are looking for an exceptional and authentic networker to join us as our Patient and Community Outreach Manager. This role will be within the Health Engagement division and will support both the patient recruitment and community partnerships teams in delivery of key projects.

We are looking for a friendly, professional, and enthusiastic individual who can deliver an extremely high level of engagement to our stakeholders and colleagues. The role is varied and involves a broad range of duties, therefore an ability to multitask is essential. This role would suit someone who is confident, flexible, and has excellent communication and organisational skills, and most importantly has a true desire to improve health and wellbeing for different communities.

Your role

You will be playing a key role in engaging with the public, patients, communities and other stakeholders within healthcare to help us raise awareness of health research, support recruitment to clinical trials, and ultimately improve health outcomes and health equity.

Key responsibilities for the Patient and Community Outreach Manager are as follows:

  • Supports with the delivery of recruitment objectives for research and/or clinical trials by taking responsibility for the recruitment, engagement, and retention of patients on programmes.
  • Builds a strong network with non-medical partners (e.g., patient advocacy groups, community networks, religious institutions, sport groups, social clubs, schools, retirement homes) to strengthen the awareness of clinical trials.
  • Promotes and builds recognition of the COUCH Health brand with our network.
  • Locates, schedules and facilitates various community-wide events that allows face-to-face interaction to obtain opt-in database leads.
  • Cultivates and maintains respectable relations with the community, promotes research and attends community events.
  • Ensures an increase to the database and actively contributes to initiatives and strategies to enrol potential participants onto the database.
  • Distributes flyers, posters and other advertising material as appropriate to increase awareness of clinical research.
  • Manages projects and acts as point of contact for various internal clients.

  • Motivated person with a desire to improve representation in research and make health human.
  • Proactive with great attention to detail.
  • Experience in outreach and engagement with the public and communities.
  • A background working in healthcare (UK and Internationally) will be seen as an advantage.
  • Solid interpersonal and problem-solving skills to enable working in a multicultural organisation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Confident in various communication methods, including telephone, social media messages, emails and face-to-face.
  • Good organisational skills.
