About
The Job

In this new digital age, it’s absolutely crucial that all content has the user experience at the forefront. That’s why user experience (UX) research is such an exciting, fast-growing area to get into. And we think COUCH Health is the perfect place for you to grow and get valuable on-the-job experience (if we do say so ourselves!). We put people at the centre of everything we create, so your insights and skills in UX research will be invaluable — making a big difference to real people.

That’s why our tagline is Making Health Human, and you can have a role in making that a reality.

COUCH Health is a global creative health engagement agency based in Manchester city centre. And we’re working with Manchester Metropolitan University to recruit a UX Research Apprentice to come and join us. We’re growing fast and we’re always keen to recruit people with a fresh perspective, and at the same time, give people their first foot-in-the-door. As well as having a full-time job that gives paid time off to attend classes and experience agency life, you’ll gain a BSc (Hons) in UX Research. It’s a no brainer!

Want to know a little more about COUCH Health? Then come and see us at MMU’s Degree Apprenticeship Open Evening and Jobs Fair on 14th March. Maybe give us a Google, too. But enough about us, we want to hear about you.

Your role

There are just a few boxes we need to tick. You’ll need to have achieved or exceeded MMU’s minimum qualification criteria — 104 UCAS Points or BBC grades at A Level — and obviously be interested in all things UX research. Some other skills that we’d need from our apprentice include:

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • The ability to manage your workload effectively
  • The ability to apply UX research principles and theory you learn in lectures to your work
  • Skills in research, including keeping up to date with new techniques being used in the industry
  • A drive to ensure that the user comes first in all of our content
  • Comfortable analysing data, and reporting on performance metrics
  • A passion to maintain the COUCH voice across all of our work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills — you’ll be talking to all sorts of people during your time here, so being a good communicator is key

About you

We want you to fit right into the team, too. So if the below describes you, we’re almost there:

  • A positive, proactive attitude is a must — we get things done, and have fun doing it.
  • You’ve got to be a team player — we help each other out wherever we can.
  • You’re not afraid to come up with ideas — the best ideas can come from anywhere and anyone, and we want to hear yours!
  • Kind and generous — with your time, your behaviour, and your compassion.
  • A good listener and a brave voice — we’re here to help you, so make sure to listen, but don’t be afraid to speak up either because your input is important to us.
  • You’ll need an eye for detail and to take pride in being thorough in everything you do — we pride ourselves on the quality of our work.

This is a great opportunity to join a team that builds people up to do great things for themselves and others. Interested? Great! Get your CV and a cover letter over to us ASAP at: careers@couchhealth.agency
